Stansbury Park, Grantsville Homes, a cash register
I catch a lot of flack from my friends about my passion for Real Estate. Lately it's been aimed at why I continue to spout off about major builders entering the market with New Construction projects in Stansbury Park and Grantsville. Some of those friends (the sports minded kind) have even called me a "homer".
The answer is, they build and sell New Homes. Lots of New Homes !!!! That means money. Lots of it !!!
Sundays Salt Lake Tribune (Sept. 15th) ran an article by Gary Cannon, President of the Salt Lake Board of Realtors that explained it better than I can. Here's some of what he said.
"Local, state, and national economies are greatly affected by the housing Industry. New home construction and existing homes sales create jobs, generate wages, and taxes, and positively influence our community and quality of life."
Gary went on to quote the National Association of Home Builders, regarding the effects of building 1000 New homes in an area.
The four builders I mentioned in my August 29th article aren't going to build that many homes this year, but I bet they sell 10% of that. Lets see what that does for the economy in Tooele county.
Affects of building 100 New Homes in Stansbury Park, and Grantsville:
Jobs created in construction or construction related field. 245
Wages paid : Seven million nine hundred thousand dollars.
Federal, state, and local taxes and fees collected. Four million two hundred thousand dollars.
Average amount owners spend first year to finish, furnish, or decorate the home. $8,905.00.
For my money, we should all be "homers" If you don't agree, let me know.
