Closing on your New Home ? Does the Seller Know ?
Does the seller know you're closing on your new home tomorrow ? Are they packed, do they have a time scheduled at the Title Company ? Are they ready to move ? Truck rented, or home moving company scheduled ? Utilities to be shut off ? Mail forwarded from old to new house ?
In other words, has the selling agent done the job of advising the sellers what needs to happen when you sell homes...... and when.?
All too often lately, we get down to "C" day and not everyone is prepared. Generally it is on the sellers side. I don't know why that is, but that seems to be the case. It could be that the house is a FSBO, or the agent is limited service, or the listing agent is new and without supervision or guidance. It may be the seller just doesn't listen. Whatever the reason, it can muck up a very simple closing.
What do you think ?..... If you're a seller, what do you think are your selling agents responsibilities in assisting with your scheduling ?......If you're a listing agent, how do you help your home seller prepare to switch homes...... Do you think any of that is part of your duties ?
