NOTE TO: Tooele Home Sellers !!
This is a note to all the Tooele home sellers out there that are thinking of listing their home with a Real Estate Agent from the "other side of the tracks". I am not talking to those of you that have listed your home with a Real Estate Agent from out of town. Thats done and I don't want to interfere with that relationship.
I want to have a real talk with those of you that are thinking of listing your home, and those folks that are weary of trying to sell their own house. IE: FSBOs.
Last week a group of local Realtors toured homes for sale in Tooele, Stansbury Park, Erda, And Grantsville. They do this every week. Each local agent selects a home to feature to other agents and everyone caravans to the various homes hoping to discover the perfect match for one of their clients. It's a traditional way that good agents stay on top of the market. Berna & I do It faithfully.
I am always amazed at the number of yard signs from out of the area. These signs Indicate the homeowner thinks the agent on that sign, from out of the area can do a better job of exposing the home than one of our local agents. Some of these signs have company logos I have never heard of. Some of these"homes for sale" signs show an address and phone number that encourages a call to an agent 50 miles away. Why?
The agents in this caravan sell a large percentage of the homes sold in Tooele County. The Brokerages that they work for, a larger percentage still, and yet these agents will drive right by those homes, because the owner of that sign (the out of town agent) is probably on their own tour, in a territory they know something about, looking for a home for a buyer, you guessed it.... 50 miles away. (The rule is you must be on the tour, to show your clients home).

YOU NEED A LOCAL AGENT !!!.
Next weekend, these Tooele County Agents will have people in their car, looking at Tooele homes they have previewed.
Of the almost 250 Real Estate Agents in Tooele County there MUST be one that you could work with.
Next time you're near a computer, go to Google and click on Tooele Homes For Sale. Thats how almost 80% of the home buyers start their search for a new home. (Recent NAR survey, profile of home buyers). See how many agents names come up that are not from Tooele, or Grantsville, or Erda, or Stansbury Park.
