Lake Point Utah, originally known as Mills Junction, is an incorporated community located 24 freeway miles west of Downtown Salt Lake City along State Route 36. Lakepoint is bordered on the west by Stansbury Park, and on the north by the open land surrounding Kennecott. It’s also right at the southern tip of the Great Salt Lake.

The Tooele County School District provides the public schools for all of Tooele County, including Lake Point. For higher education, students can attend Utah State University Tooele, which is only 12 miles away in Tooele City. Students have access to Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs.
