Tooele County 4th of July activities!

As always, the 4th will be a fun, busy day in Tooele County!  If you're in Tooele, start your day of with the Chamber of Commerce Breakfast at Veterans Memorial Park. Berna & I have been helping serve breakfast for the last several years. It's a great chance to see people you don't see often enough. We'll start serving at 7am, and continue until 9am. Cost is $5 for adults and children 10 & under for $3. This will leave you in a great spot to watch the parade, one of the highlights of any 4th celebration. This is the first year in the last 10 that we won't have some kids in it, although I bet Jeremy finds his way into a Search & Rescue vehicle! After the parade, head down to the City Park (by Pratt Aquatic Center) and enjoy, the food, the games, and the following entertainment! For me it's mostly the food....

10:00-11:00 New Life Band

11:00-12:00 Tooele High mascots and Cheerleaders, Jazz-n-it dance

12:00-12:30 Tooele Valley Martial Arts

12:30-1:30 Joshua Vineyard Band

2:00-2:45 New Life Band

2:45-3:15 Cast & Crew from Asylum 49 Haunted Hospital

If you are spending the day in Grantsville, why not start with the annual pancake breakfast put on by the GHS Larriettes at the fire station? They will be serving from 6am to 9am. Also, the Ray Barrus 5k run for all ages starts at 7am. The flag raising will take place at the fire station at 8am. The parade starts at 11am, ending up at Cherry St. Park

12:30 pm Park Festivities, tons of rides and games

12:30 pm Tooele Rotary 6th Annual Car show

1:00-3:00 Live music by Junk Drawer

3:00-5:30 Live music by Blues on First

4:00-9:00 4H Rodeo

5:30- 7:15 Music by Blind Justice

7:30- 8:15 Music by James Town Band

8:30-9:30 Live music by Sticks & Stones

and at 9:30pm, what is being billed as the "Biggest fireworks show in Tooele County"!

The neat thing about all this is, that the money raised from rides, games, and the car show all go to charity! Since the kids are grown, Berna and I will finally get to go to the car show!

Tooele County will truly be a great place to spend the 4th! Have a great time, and be safe!
