Utah Motorsports Campus Starts This Weekend in Tooele
Can you believe it? Utah Motorsports Campus starts this weekend in Tooele. I picked this article off of facebook this morning from Vickie Grifiths wall @ Prudential or whatever it's called. (the wall, not the company).
I'm glad she posted it..... It's a reminder of a lot of good things about the county.
It also gives me a chance to link back to an article that may have made it to the cutting room floor and no farther that talked about how important it was that the commissioners keep fighting. Fighting for Jobs, Tax revenue and future development.
I should probably attribute to the author as well, but I think Vickie took this from their website and I don't want to get her in trouble.

NASA Utah Kicks Off 2016 UMC Racing Season
For the first time since October, the sounds of highly tuned racing engines will fill the air in Tooele Valley as Utah Motorsports Campus kicks off its 2016 racing season.
Formerly known as Miller Motorsports Park, Utah Motorsports Campus is managing the facility on behalf of Tooele County while the procedures to sell the facility take place.
The Utah Region of the National Auto Sport Association (NASA Utah) will have two full days of racing on Saturday and Sunday, March 12-13. There will be a complete program of practice, qualifying and racing, as well a full High Performance Driving Experience schedule, on each day. The entry list shows a wide variety of machinery, ranging from Mazda Miatas and Nissan 350Zs to Audi R8s and Lamborghini Huracans.
“It’s hard to believe that our first race of the season is already here,” said Willem Geyer, General Manager of Utah Motorsports Campus. “We have only been occupying the facility for five weeks, and it’s taken a lot of work to get prepared. However, we have a great staff and not only is the track ready, but we have hired and trained our race control, corner worker and medical staffs as well. It’s going to be great to hear race cars on the track again, and we look forward to a great season for the racers and our loyal fans.
“Not only is this a momentous occasion for us, but also for Tooele County. We’re honored to have been chosen to maintain the track, and very appreciative of the support from the Tooele County Commissioners to make this possible.”
On-track action will begin at 8 am on both days, with races scheduled in the afternoon. The schedule will end at approximately 4:30 pm on both days.
Admission is priced at only $5/day for adults, and kids aged 12 and under will be admitted free of charge. Concessions will be provided by Smoke A’ Billy BBQ, who will be serving breakfast from 7 am until 11am and lunch from 11am until 3 pm. Pepsi products will also be available.

Thanks again to everyone that made this happen. .......................................See y'all there!
